Tales of the West, the 1950 double-bill release of ("A two-story western feature"; "Frontier badmen stopped by 'Tex'!") Cactus Caravan, the 1950 Will Cowan cowboy western melodrama starring Tex Williams, Smokey Rogers, Deuce Spriggins, Leslie Banning, and Tristram Coffin AND South of Santa Fe, the 1949 Will Cowan cowboy western musical short starring Tex Williams, Smokey Rogers, and Deuce Spriggins. Note that, in 1950, someone at Universal got the great idea to release pairs of recent westerns as double-bills to theaters with the supposedly catchy overall title of "Tales of the West". We have seen two different entries in this series (one with no number, and one called "Tales of the West No. 2"), and we don't know if that was the end of it, or if there were other double bills. If anyone knows more about this series, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
