An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More)

Solomon and Sheba, the 1959 King Vidor romantic Biblical melodrama ("The mightiest motion picture ever created!"; "A motion picture so vast it sweeps all before it!"; "Story by Crane Wilbur"; "Number its sights in the thousands! The desert charge of the Pharaoh's chariots against the Israelite host! The fabled caravan of the Queen of Sheba! The sacred council of the twelve tribes! The sacrificial altar of Mount Gibeon! The exotic Sheban gardens! The seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines of Solomon!"; "For it was thus with her: she would dance and inflame her followers. and there were many men amongst them ...ready to appease their Queen."; "Thus was it said of the pagan... Sheba!") starring Yul Brynner (in the title role as Solomon; with hair!), Gina Lollobrigida (in the title role as Sheba), George Sanders, Marisa Pavan, David Farrar (billed as "David Farrar as guest star"; "With guest star David Farrar"), and Harry Andrews. Note that in 1958, Power was acting on stage, but he signed to play the lead in this movie, returning him to the swashbuckling type of role he had tried to get away from for so long. Ironically, he died of a heart attack while filming a dueling scene (he was just 44 years old). Yul Brynner was brought in and re-shot all of Power's scenes, but the studio tried to save some money, and you can still see Power in some scenes and long shots!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been machine folded! Most insert posters were folded twice horizontally right off of the printing press. It is very difficult to find an unfolded copy of most inserts, especially from before 1970!

Condition: very good.
