(Learn More) the 1971 double-bill release ("All the horrifying nightmares of a thousand frightening dreams in one panic-packed show") of The Mad Doctor of Blood Island, the 1968 Gerardo de Leon & Eddie Romero U.S./Filipino zombie horror thriller ("In blood curdling color") starring John Ashley, Angelique Pettyjohn, Eddie Garcia, Ronald Remy, and Alicia Alonzo AND Die Schlangengrube und das Pendel (released in the U.S. as "Blood Demon"), the 1967 Harald Reinl German horror thriller ("In blood dripping color"; "The dead return to life - living and lusting for bizarre pleasures"; based on the story "The Pit and the Pendulum" by Edgar Allan Poe) starring Christopher Lee, Lex Barker, Karin Dor, Carl Lange, and Vladimir Medar NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Almost every Academy Award winning movie would have a special "Academy Award winner" supplement. Note that this pressbook is part of an amazing collection of 456 different horror/sci-fi pressbooks (our items #5387 through #5842)! The collector who assembled this collection did so over a span of several decades, and to duplicate it would surely take at least that long, if one started today. But on October 30th, every one of these pressbooks will go to a new owner, as all are being sold with NO reserve. Note that this collection spans the years from 1950 to 1972, and just about every single 1950s and 1960s horror/sci-fi movie is represented here. Also note that we have listed them in DATE order (first by year, and then alphabetically within years). This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire rare pressbooks that almost never are offered for sale! Condition: fine. Note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Since pressbooks were INTENDED to be cut up (the theater owners would cut out the newspaper ads to run in their local papers).
