An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Niagara, the 1953 Henry Hathaway marital problems romantic melodrama ("Marilyn Monroe and 'Niagara' a raging torrent of emotion that even nature can't control!"; "Marilyn Monroe and Niagara, the high water mark in suspense"; set at the famous Niagara Falls waterfall in New York state and Canada; about two couples visiting the famous landmark, one on their honeymoon, and the other in a very disturbing relationship, which leads to a death, which may be murder) starring Marilyn Monroe, Joseph Cotten, Jean Peters, Casey Adams, Denis O'Dea, Richard Allan, Don Wilson, Lurene Tuttle, Russell Collins, and Will Wright. Note that Marilyn Monroe was given the lead in this movie, but she was not yet a major star. Her performance in this film, and the iconic gigantic image of her laying atop the famous waterfall with the water running over her body helped her career massively! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the top crossfold and tiny paper loss at the other two crossfolds. It had some creases and tiny bits of paper loss along parts of the folds. It had some pinholes, tears, and smudges around the edges. It had writing on the back of the top left of the poster that slightly bled through to the front in the top left background area. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
