Note that Cecil B. DeMille had filmed Carmen in 1915 with Geraldine Farrar in the lead role, and Raoul Walsh had also filmed it in 1915 with Theda Bara in the lead role. In 1918, Ernst Lubitsch filmed this German version, but it wasn't released in the U.S. until 1921, because of the two earlier versions, and when it was released, it was re-titled "Gypsy Blood" to avoid confusion with the other two movies. In 1923, both Lubitsch and Negri moved to the United States, after making many German films. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good to fine. Note that this lobby card is in excellent condition and is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back of the card! Learn More about condition grades
