An Original Vintage Theatrical Style B Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More)

A Bedtime Story, the 1933 Norman Taurog romantic love triangle man-stuck-with-abandoned-baby musical ("Don't go to bed, girls. Because you won't sleep after you hear Maurice Chevalier tell A Bedtime Story"; a wild story about playboy Maurice Chevalier who is engaged, but still wants to play around, and then he is given Baby LeRoy to take care of, and that interferes with his plans!) starring Maurice Chevalier, Helen Twelvetrees, Edward Everett Horton, Adrienne Ames, Baby LeRoy (as Monsieur Baby), Betty Lorraine, Gertrude Michael, Earle Foxe, and Leah Ray. Note that this movie marked Baby LeRoy's entrance into show business, and he was just 6 months old when the film was filmed (not only could he not sign a contract, because he was underage, but his 16 year-old mother was also underage, and his grandfather had to sign his contract!). He was born Ronald Le Roy Overacker, and he appeared in a total of nine movies over the next two years, and is best remembered for his movies with W.C. Fields: It's a Gift, The Old Fashioned Way, and Tillie and Gus. He basically retired at the age of 4 in 1936. In 1940, it looked like he would have a "comeback" at the age of 8 when he was cast in the lead of "The Biscuit Eater", but he became ill during filming a water stunt, and he was quickly replaced by Billy Lee, with the promise from Paramount that he would get another movie, but he never did. He lived until 2001, passing away at the age of 69, without ever making another movie!

Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).

Condition: good. The slide has completely lost its cardboard holder, so that only the glass remains. One could easily make an amateur cardboard holder that would serve the same purpose, and other than not having the holder, the slide is in pretty nice condition. Please do not bid on this slide unless you can accept that it does not have a cardboard holder and is solely a single pane of glass.
