4 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Mystery of Edwin Drood, the 1935 Stuart Walker Universal opium drugs addiction horror mystery crime thriller (based on the novel by Charles Dickens, which was unfinished when Dickens died; about a choirmaster of a church who is secretly an opium addict, and he has a young beautiful female ward, and when she becomes engaged, he is enraged, and he kills the man, and the mystery is not WHO killed him, but rather HOW he was killed and how the body was disposed of!) starring Claude Rains, Douglass Montgomery, Heather Angel, David Manners (in the title role as Edwin Drood), Francis L. Sullivan, Valerie Hobson, Forrester Harvey, and Zeffie Tilbury. Note that because Dickens had not finished this novel when he died, screenwriters John Balderston and Gladys Unger had to come up with an ending on their own, but critics and the public liked what they came up with!

Important Added Info: Note that this is one of 26 groups of lobby cards that we are auctioning in 26 different auctions. The cards were all found at the same time, and they are all from 1934 or 1935, and many of them are from extremely rare titles. HOWEVER, ALL ARE HEAVILY STAINED AND HAVE OTHER DEFECTS. But of course, any or all of them could be restored, but bear in mind their VERY significant condition defects before bidding on them.

Condition: poor to fair. As noted above, these cards are stained and have other defects, as clearly seen in our super-sized images. THEY ARE IN URGENT NEED OF PROFESSIONAL RESTORATION. Bear this in mind before bidding on these cards.
