An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Other Company One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Broadway Musketeers, the 1938 John Farrow New York City musical romantic crime melodrama ("I'm a secretary in love with my boss!"; "I'm a strip-tease dancer in a burlesque joint!"; "I'm married to a stock broker and not happily!"; a wacky story of three female best friends in New York City with very different lives, and they have a birthday dinner together once each year, but they get mixed up with gamblers and racketeers, and one of them is kidnapped with her daughter when one of the husbands welches on a gambling bet, and the mother is killed, but the movie has a happy ending, because her daughter attends the next birthday dinner with the two survivors!) starring Margaret Lindsay, Ann Sheridan (made during the time in her career when she was not yet a leading star, but Warner Bros. stuck her in virtually every movie they made where she could play any part!), Marie Wilson, John Litel, and Janet Chapman NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this was printed by the "other company". This was a company in the Midwest that from roughly 1936 to roughly 1941 printed its own one-sheets and lobby card sets (and a very few inserts, half-sheets, three-sheets, 40x60s and stills) for three major studio movies (Warner Brothers, Paramount and United Artists, but no other studios). The posters and lobby cards are from the original release of the movie, and almost always have completely different artwork from the regular studio release. They never have the name of the releasing studio on the poster or any of the lobby cards, but many years later, noted poster dealer/historian Walter Reuben discovered that the name of the company was "Associated Displays Corporation" and that they were based in Manhattan, New York (oddly, no collectors knew the name of this company for decades!). Sometimes, "other company" posters or lobby cards have images that are the equal of those from the regular studio release posters or lobby cards! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some extra creases along the left half of the bottom foldline. It had some pinholes, tears, and small paper loss in the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was mounted onto a thin linen with no excess, and no restoration was performed. Learn More about condition grades
