An Original Vintage Theatrical 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Harpo Marx (born Adolph Marx) was an actor from the 1920s to the 1960s. He is best remembered as the Marx Brothers lovable mute (he never spoke in any of the movies!) and for his curly red hair, top hat, and horn. He acquired his nickname because he was an expert harpist, which he would play in many of his movies. Some of his movies include: Duck Soup, A Night at the Opera, Horse Feathers, A Day at the Races, Animal Crackers, and Monkey Business. Harpo passed away in 1964 at the age of 75.
Important Added Info: Note that this still has a great snipe on the back explaining that Harpo learned the harp without any lessons, and that he "spends hours at the instrument for sheer love and devotion to it, playing the most difficult classics, frequently 'swings' them for his own amusement". Also note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm].

Condition: good. There are creases and scuffs scattered throughout the still. The still was used in a newspaper and there are two diagonal lines to the left and right of Harpo's head, showing where it was cropped in the newspaper (see our image).
