Orfeu Negro (released in the U.S. as "Black Orpheus"), the classic 1959 Marcel Camus Brazilian/French/Italian doomed romance fantasy melodrama ("Amid the splendor of Carnival in Rio... A modern retelling of the ancient legend of love and passion and violence!"; "Passionate! Volatile! Haunting!"; winner of the Best Foreign Language Academy Award; a re-telling of the Greek myth, updated to the present day and set at the Brazilian Carnival, and featuring black actors in the lead roles) starring Breno Mello (in the title role as Orfeu), Marpessa Dawn (as Eurydice), Marcel Camus, Fausto Guerzoni, Lourdes de Oliveira, and Adhemar Ferreira da Silva (as Death)

Important Added Info: Note that this Italian still is from when this classic movie was shown at the Venice Film Festival. There is a snipe on the back which identifies the movie as "Nigger Orpheus"! We have never seen or heard of anything else that calls this movie by this offensive name! Also note that this Italian still measures 7 1/4" x 9 1/2" [18 x 24 cm], but it has not been trimmed.
