He received international acclaim for his performances of the music written by a variety of composers and many regard him as the greatest Chopin interpreter of his time. He passed away in 1982 at the age of 95. Important Added Info: Note that these stills are from the personal collection of Nevart Apikian, who wrote an entertainment column for the Syracuse Post Standard for nearly 50 years. They were acquired from her estate after her passing. In the case of these particular stills, they come together with material she received from the studio about this movie, which they sent to her along with the stills, in hopes she would write a column about the movie!
