An Original Vintage Autographed Costume Drawing (measures 12" x 16 1/4" [30 x 41 cm]) (Learn More)

Edward Stevenson was an Academy Award-winning American costume designer from the 1920s to the 1960s. His film and television credits number well over two hundred, including Citizen Kane and It's a Wonderful Life, both frequently cited as being among the greatest films of all time. In his later years, he worked for Lucille Ball as costume designer for I Love Lucy and more. He passed away in 1968 at the age of 62.
Artist: Edward Stevenson
Important Added Info: Note that this costume drawing is a one of a kind original drawn by the costume designer for this movie, Edward Stevenson, who added his signature and the date (1925) in the bottom right corner. There is a light pencil drawing of a different sexy woman in a gown, that was likely started by Stevenson and then abandoned. Over the past few years, we have auctioned a number of costume drawings from the 1920s and 1930s (and we have this one and one more of those in separate auctions), and we have now also been consigned two similar costume drawings (from the 1950s), and we are auctioning them in two separate auctions!

Note that this costume drawing was painted on brown paper, and while it could be rolled, we fear that would damage it, so it will be shipped in a flat package that measures approximately 14" x 18".

Condition: good to very good.
