His father is Melvyn Van Peebles, who was an actor/director of some early blaxploitation movies, including what most people consider to be the very first one, "Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song". Some of his movies include: Thew Cotton Club, Heartbreak Ridge, Ali (as Malcolm X), and All Things Fall Apart Important Added Info: Note that this REPRODUCTION still has been personally autographed (signed) by Mario Van Peebles! Also note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/2" [20 x 27 cm]. The consignor of this autographed item (and a large number of other signed items in this auction) is a longtime autograph collector who does not have a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) for this item, but he feels certain it is genuine.
