An Original Vintage Theatrical Kraftbacked Folded Chapter #7 (Fatal Moments) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 40" [69 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) The King of the Kongo, the 1929 Richard Thorpe Africa action adventure romantic jungle serial ("A Wild Animal Serial in Ten Thrilling Chapters") starring Jacqueline Logan, Walter Miller, Richard Tucker, Boris Karloff, Larry Steers, and Joe Bonomo (famous early strongman, as the gorilla, and he also played one of the gorillas in 1932's "Murders in the Rue Morgue"!). Note that while this movie was released in a silent version, it also had a "part talking" version, which made this the first sound serial! Also note that Boris Karloff did not receive billing on the posters for this serial! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this wonderful one-sheet has great art of fourth billed Boris Karloff in a death struggle! Because he was not billed on the posters, it is likely that he was pictured on very few, if any, of the other posters for this movie! Note that this one-sheet has been trimmed and it now measures 27" x 40" [69 x 102 cm]. Also note that this poster has been kraftbacked, which means it was backed onto a brown paper soon after it was printed (this process is called "kraft-backing", and posters with it are called "kraft-backed"). One could have it professionally removed from the kraft paper and linenbacked, and it would look great! Condition: good to very good. Prior to being kraftbacked (or perhaps after), the poster had approximately 1/2" neatly trimmed from the top and bottom blank borders. It had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and fine surface paper loss on parts of the foldlines, with separation at the left ends of the top and bottom folds. It also had pinholes in the corners. Someone displayed this poster in a frame with four pieces of conservation tape on the back of the top of the poster. Certainly, this wonderful poster could be displayed exactly as it is (and a previous owner did!), and it is also true that it could be removed from the kraft backing, and it would not require very much at all in the way of paint restoration. Either way, I am envious of the new owner! Learn More about condition grades
