Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this first release insert, and that was 26 years ago, when it sold for $1,265! Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thicker paper backing, it CAN'T be sent rolled (someone could conceivably roll it or try to do so, but we know it would definitely lessen its condition, so we will only send it in a very large flat package). What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had a partial extra horizontal fold 1/4" above the top and bottom folds, with some creases and surface paper loss on the folds. It had pinholes and smudges around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to paperbacking. Someone paperbacked the poster, likely years ago, you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. However, someone stored the poster rolled, and it became folded across the middle, so it is now "curled" in the top and bottom, and has surface paper loss on the middle fold (this can be corrected through putting it under heavy weight or having additional restoration performed, so bear this in mind before bidding.
