Sesquicentennial International Exposition, the 1926 poster ("America Welcomes the World"; "The Voice of the Liberty Bell") promoting the Sesquicentennial International Exposition which was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from June 1st to December 1st. It's purpose was to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration Of Independence in 1776, as well as the 50th anniversary of the Centennial International Exhibition of 1876. Note that this poster features Dan Smith art of Columbia (an early symbol of America similar to Uncle Sam)
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Artist: Dan Smith
Important Added Info: Note that this is an original poster from 1926 and not any sort of later reproduction. This is the version that measures 17" x 27" and advertised the event, NOT the similar souvenir poster (which measured approximately 10" x 15", and was sold commercially).

Condition: good. The poster has some significant paper loss at upper right and right as well as a few tears of varying lengths (see our image). Certainly the poster could be restored and linenbacked and it would look great, but please bear in mind its defects and cost of restoration before placing a bid.
