Date Sold 7/30/2024Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] News Photo (Learn More) The Magnificent Seven, the classic 1960 John Sturges cowboy western ("The Magnificent One!"; "They were seven... And then they fought like seven hundred..."; "The Matchless Seven...The Might Seven 'The Magnificent Seven'!"; "Seven... and they fought like seven hundred!"; a remake of the Japanese Akira Kurosawa classic, "The Seven Samurai"; about a Mexican village terrorized by bandits and they hire seven professional gunfighters to defend their town, by literally giving them everything they have of value) starring Yul Brynner (as "Chris Adams"), Eli Wallach (as "Calvera"), Steve McQueen (as "Vin"), James Coburn (as "Britt"), Charles Bronson (as "Bernardo O'Reilly"), Horst Buchholz (billed as "Introducing Horst Buchholz"; as Chico), Robert Vaughn (as "Lee"), Brad Dexter (as "Harry Luck"), Rosenda Monteros (as "Petra"), and Vladimir Sokoloff (as the "Old Man") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the snipe on the back of this still says that the stars are "carefully lined up along a marker" as they "look up for further instructions from the camera crew". We have seen candids from this movie that show the stars in a lineup like this, but they are in a gentle curve and not a right angle, and have no idea why they would need a giant "L" on the ground to tell them where to stand! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that we are also currently auctioning another still clearly from the same sequence where the actors are walking towards the marker preparing the line up. Condition: very good.
