He often collaborated with Orson Welles (he was an uncredited assistant on Citizen Kane, and he was in Welles Mercury Theatre), and was the founding director of the Drama Division at The Juilliard School. In his later life, he turned to acting, and while he is surely best remembered for his role as Professor Kingsford in The Paper Chase (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), he was also in other movies including: Rollerball, The Naked Gun, and Scrooged (as himself). He passed away in 1988 at the age of 86. Important Added Info: Note that these stills all feature a specific actor or actress (sometimes portraits, but often in a scene from a movie that they were in). They come from the collection of Ken Jones, who was an author of many books about old-time actors, including many character actors. He collected on all the stars that he enjoyed, and this is a rare opportunity to get a number of stills at one time from this specific star! Condition: very good.
