An Original Vintage 8 1/4" x 12" [21 x 30 cm] News Photo (Learn More) Barbara Stanwyck (born Ruby Catherine Stevens) was a major female star from the 1920s to the 1980s. She was an immediate hit in sexy "bad girl" parts in the very early 1930s, and in 1931, she was described as "the girl with the Mona Lisa smile". Some of her movies include: Stella Dallas (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Double Indemnity (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Lady Eve, Meet John Doe, Ball Of Fire (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Sorry, Wrong Number (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Strange Love of Martha Ivers, and scores of others! In her later years, she took a starring role on TV's "The Big Valley", and "The Colbys" (as spin-off of "Dynasty"). She passed away in 1990 at the age of 82. AND Dwight D. Eisenhower (nicknamed "Ike") was a U.S. Army officer and politician from the 1910s to the 1960s. He was a five-star general during World War II, served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe and became the first Supreme Commander of NATO. He was elected to the presidency of the United States from 1953 to 1961. As President, he ended the Korean War and presided over eight years of relative peace and economic growth, during which no inflation occurred and the debt kept to a minimum. Important Added Info: Note that this great news photo was taken when Ike was still the Five Star General head of the Allied Forces in Europe, and he was watching a show in London and met the stars backstage afterward! Also note that this news photo measures 8 1/4" x 12" [21 x 30 cm]. Note that this still has a stamp on the back in the form of a diamond that has "TRR" running down the center. One certainly might wonder who placed this stamp there and why. The answer is that the still (and many others we are auctioning in this set of auctions) come to us from a still collector who has collected for many decades, and long ago he began stamping the back of his stills with this stamp, and "TRR" is his initials! Each of the stills is stamped lightly, and the stamp does NOT affect the front of the still. He is a VERY advanced collector, and he has consigned many wonderful stills to us! Condition: very good. There is a brown stain in the right of the bottom blank border and creases and minor imperfections around the edges, with a few faint creases scattered in the image, but they are mostly only noticeable when the photo is tilted to the light.
