An Undated (probably 1940s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Girls on Probation, the 1938 William C. McGann women-in-prison crime melodrama ("Nice Kid Today... Jailbird Tomorrow") starring Jane Bryan, Ronald Reagan, Sig Ruman, Susan Hayward (in her first real role!), Henry O'Neill, Sheila Bromley, and Elisabeth Risdon. Note that this movie has a very complicated origin! There was a completely different movie that was originally titled "Girls on Probation", but at some point after they began filming that movie, they changed the plot of it enough to where the title no longer made sense, at which point the movie's title was changed to "The Beloved Brat" (after first considering using the title "Too Much of Everything"). But almost surely because Warner Bros. had already announced that they would make "Girls on Probation" (and in fact, we have seen the window card from that intended release of "The Beloved Brat"), they went ahead and made this movie that same year with the original title to replace the changed one, which actually does center around girls on probation.
