Cahn insurance fraud crime thriller ("Astounding disclosure of the hospital racket..."; "Screen Play by Houston Branch and Joseph L. Mankiewicz"; about the then significant social problem of people staging car "accidents", where they would pretend to be hit by a car and they would have convenient "witnesses" standing nearby who would be willing to sign affidavits, and they would use them to extort the drivers who thought they had hit the "victim") starring William Boyd (billed as "Bill Boyd"), Wynne Gibson, William Gargan, Betty Furness, George E. Stone, and Edwin Maxwell. Note that this type of fraud continues to the present day, but is not as prevalent as it once was. It was used on the TV series "Better Call Saul", where Jimmy McGill (later Saul Goodman) tells how he started his life in crime doing the very scam that this movie exposes (and how he was called "Slippin' Jimmy"!). Also note that the screenplay was co-written by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, who would write other socially conscious movies in the 1930s, including the dialog for "Our Daily Bread", and whose masterpiece was "All About Eve" in 1950.
