Nicknamed "the Bambino" and "the Sultan of Swat", he is perhaps one of the most famous baseball players to have played the game, having led the Red Sox and the Yankees to a total of seven World Series championships. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936 only a year after his retirement! Ruth passed away in 1948 at the age of 53. AND Eddie Rickenbacker was a pilot from the 1910s to the 1960s. He is best remembered as the most successful combat aviation airplane fighter ace during World War I (WWI), having over 26 verified aerial combat victories, and is the recipient of several military medals, including the Medal of Honor! He passed away in 1973 at the age of 82. Important Added Info: Note that this wonderful news photo, which measures 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" [17 x 22 cm], shows two of the greatest legends of history in a single photo! Condition: good to very good. The photo was used in a newspaper or magazine and there are printer instructions written in the left blank border, showing what portion of the photo to reproduce.
