An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the 1960 Michael Curtiz adventure comedy (based on the famous Mark Twain novel; "A wonderful world of excitement!") starring Tony Randall, Patty McCormack, Neville Brand, Mickey Shaughnessy, Judy Canova, Buster Keaton, Andy Devine, Finlay Currie, Sterling Holloway, Archie Moore (former light-heavyweight boxing champion; billed as "Presenting Archie Moore as Jim"), Eddie Hodges (billed as "Also starring Eddie Hodges as Huckleberry Finn"), and John Carradine. Note that this movie was originally begun in 1952, when it would have starred William Warfield as Jim (he had just made "Show Boat"). The project was naturally a musical and included four new songs by Alan Jay Lerner, and it would have had Dean Stockwell as Huck and Danny Kaye and Gene Kelly as the con men! But the project was abandoned. It was resurrected in 1959, and at that point, the musical idea was dropped, and it was filmed as a comedy with the above cast. One wonders what the original musical version would have been like, especially with that very different cast. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
