Note that Alfred Hitchcock used the two taglines "The birds is coming!" and "The birds is here!" on several different types of advertising for this movie, no doubt because he thought it was funny that while it is technically grammatically correct when referring to the movie, they "sound wrong"! Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this first release British quad, and that was 16 years ago, when it sold for $1,502! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster originally had an "X" rating below the bottom right of the title, and someone must have cut that out from the poster, because there was circular paper loss in that area. There was tiny paper loss at the crossfolds, with some creases, scuffs, and smudges along most folds. There was paper loss in the middle of the left blank border, with some creases, smudges, and small tears in the rest of the borders. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking, and it would have been graded much higher if not for the cut out rating. A good restorer linenbacked the poster, and either they did not know about the missing rating, or the customer did not want it replaced, because blank white paper was put in that area. The restoration was well done and the poster will display nicely on the new owner's wall, but bear all of the above in mind before bidding on it. Learn More about condition grades
