An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Style A Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Joan of Arc, the 1948 Victor Fleming biographical historic medieval France religious war melodrama ("Greatest of all spectacles!"; "Mighty with battle... Magnificent with Drama!"; "Based on the stage play 'Joan of Lorraine' by Maxwell Anderson"; "Color by Technicolor") starring Ingrid Bergman (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Joan of Arc) and "A Cast of Thousands with" Jose Ferrer (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Francis L. Sullivan, J. Carrol Naish, Ward Bond, Shepperd Strudwick, Hurd Hatfield, Gene Lockhart, John Emery, George Coulouris, John Ireland, and Cecil Kellaway NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that, for unknown reasons, the half-sheets from this movie are extremely rare, far more rare than either the regular one-sheet or the two advance one-sheets. We have only previously auctioned a single style A one-sheet in all our years of auctioning in 2009, and we have only once auctioned a style B half-sheet (and we are auctioning a style B half-sheet in a separate auction!) Note also that this poster has never been folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good. The poster has creases, smudges and scuff marks scattered in several areas and there is some pencil writing in the upper right blank border and there are a few drip stains scattered in various areas. There are a few tears of varying lengths around the edges of the poster (one larger one is repaired with tape from the back at right). Certainly a competent restorer could repair the defects described above, but please bear in mind the cost of restoration of this rare before placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
