An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) A Dog of the Regiment, the 1927 D. Ross Lederman silent World War I (WWI) romantic airplane pilot canine German Shepherd dog melodrama (the dog must rescue his master, who is a pilot who was shot down during World War I; in real life, Rin Tin Tin was a World War I army dog who was brought back from Europe by Lee Duncan, who got him into films!) starring Rin Tin Tin (most famous of the movie dog stars, he was Warner Bros' #1 star in their early lean years and the earnings from his movies kept the studio in the black!), Dorothy Gulliver, Tom Gallery, and John S. Peters. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a different scene card from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this second lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. The card is lightly rippled across the center, but it is more "felt" than seen from the front. There are smudges in the top border and creases in each top corner. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. If one wanted to, the card can be professionally flattened without being backed, and of course, restoration to the above pretty minor defects could be performed at the same time.
