Important Added Info: Note that this script is the revised draft from November 10, 1959 and the screenplay was written by Joseph Stefano. The name "Jere Henshaw" is written in pencil on the first interior page of the script, and he was the casting director, so this script could have been his personal copy, or his name could have been written there for a different purpose. Also note that there are a multitude of different colored revision pages from many different dates from between 11/11/59 and 12/7/59 (apparently this script was revised over and over, which must have driven the actors crazy!). In addition, there are several pages where dialog has been crossed out, no doubt because it was eliminated from the final version. Finally, there is a great first revision page from 11/23/59 which states that the reader should "change name of 'Mary Crane' to 'Marion Crane' throughout script"! UPDATED 07/03/2013: Note that we accidentally failed to note that the name "Lurene Tuttle" is written on the cover of the script. Since her lines in the script are underlined, we think it is much more likely that the script belonged to Ms. Tuttle, and that she wrote the name of the casting director on the first interior page. Condition: very good. There is small paper loss in the left corners of the cover and a brown stain in the top of the cover, which bleeds through to the first seven interior pages (getting progressively smaller with each additional page). Otherwise, the script is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
