An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) America, the 1924 D.W. Griffith silent historical Revolutionary War patriotic melodrama ("A thrilling story of love and romance"; "Aflame with America's spirit!"; "The battle-cry of freedom!"; "The greatest picture of all!"; "See the midnight ride of Paul Revere"; based on the story by Robert W. Chambers) starring Neil Hamilton ("as Nathan Holden"), Carol Dempster (as Miss Nancy Montague), Lionel Barrymore (as Capt. Walter Butler), Charles Emmett Mack (as Justice Charles Montague), Erville Alderson (as Justice Montague), Harry O'Neill (as Paul Revere), and Arthur Dewey ("as George Washington") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: The slide does not have a cardboard holder, but rather there is black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of older glass slides. When we auction slides that have a cardboard holder, we provide a separate image of how the cardboard holder looks, but when we auction slides with the black tape (like this one) we only provide the scan of the glass slide image, because that really is about all there is to see. Condition: very good. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the playdates section at the bottom of the glass. The black tape that was used to hold the two panes of glass together is coming loose and someone put some clear tape in the top edge of the slide where some of the black tape was missing, but otherwise, the slide is in pretty nice condition!
