Note that this movie is always referred to as a "1937" movie, but it actually only had a limited opening in December 1937 (no doubt to qualify for the Oscars), and then it had its wide opening in February 1938. But because it is always referred to as being from 1937, we refer to it that way as well (and of course, it is technically correct). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that lobby cards from this 1951 re-release of "Snow White" are extremely rare, likely far more rare than those from the first release (there was also a 1943 re-release, and those cards are quite rare, but these cards seem to be at least as rare). One would surely think that far fewer theaters showed this movie in 1951 than showed it in 1937, which would likely help account for the rarity. Also note that the scenes from 1951 include some different ones from those of 1937 and 1943, including a wonderful close up of Snow White and The Prince, with the dwarfs rejoicing by them, which is not in either the 1937 or the 1943 set! The last time we auctioned a complete set of these cards they sold for $610 and this set is in nicer condition! Condition: very good. Most of the cards (including the card with the Prince - see above) are in very nice condition, with only a few very minor edge defects or slight darkening of the blank borders. Card #5 has a diagonal crease at lower left and someone backed that with conservation tape, and there is other tape on the back that was not put there for any restoration purpose. Card #1 has a few tiny pinholes around the edges and a tiny diagonal crease in the lower left blank corner and that is also backed with a tiny piece of conservation tape. A few have tape on the back that was not put there for any restoration purpose, typical of vintage lobby cards. Overall the complete set is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
