An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Cecil B. DeMille's Dynamite, the 1929 Cecil B. DeMille Roaring Twenties romantic melodrama (written "by Jeanie MacPherson"; "A Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer ALL TALKING Picture"; a complicated story that involves a young woman who agrees to marry a condemned man so that she will inherit his money, but she must take care of his young sister, but then the man is proven innocent, and now she is married to a total stranger!) starring Conrad Nagel, Kay Johnson, Charles Bickford, Julia Faye, Muriel McCormac, Joel McCrea, William Holden (no, not THAT William Holden, but another actor of the same name who made 20 movies between 1920 and 1931, and he died the next year, which was 7 years before the more famous William Holden made his first movie!), and Carole Lombard (whose part was cut, so her credit was deleted, but she appears in the final print of the movie in minor scenes!). Note that McCrea was a high school friend of DeMille's daughter and had been to their house many times. DeMille remembered McCrea, and gave him a role in this movie, which was his first substantial role after several bit parts in silent films. The role lead to a contract with RKO and his first lead the following year in The Silver Horde. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. There are small water stains within many of the letters of the title and down the left blank border. There are a few water stains near the center of the card. There are pinholes and smudges around the edges of the card. Other than the above, the card is in really nice condition! Since the water stains are not very distracting, I could imagine many collectors happily displaying this rare lobby card just as it is, but certainly a talented restorer could likely remove some or all of the water stains through chemical means, after which the card would look wonderful, and there would be little paint anywhere on the card!
