Date Sold 5/3/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Sheet of Wallpaper (measures 27 1/2" x 78 1/2" [70 x 199 cm]) (Learn More) Andy Warhol was an artist from the 1950s to the 1980s. He was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art, founded Interview Magazine, was the author of numerous books, managed and produced the band Velvet Underground, and his studio, The Factory, was a famous gathering place for celebrities and artists. He passed away in 1987 at the age of 58. Warhol had had gallbladder issues, which he delayed getting treated as he was scared of hospitals and doctors. Because of a previous murder attempt, as well as his age, the 'routine' surgery had significant risks, and Warhol died in his sleep after suffering from an arrhythmia. Artist: Andy Warhol Important Added Info: Note that this wallpaper does not have an Andy Warhol credit on it, but our consignor, a very longtime Andy Warhol collector assures us it was created by Andy Warhol. Note that this is one of seven Andy Warhol posters that we were consigned by a VERY long time collector of Andy Warhol memorabilia! We have NEVER auctioned any of the seven posters before. This is a great opportunity to add one or more of these rare Andy Warhol items to your collection. Condition: very good. The wallpaper has never been folded. It has some light creases scattered in various areas and some tiny, fine creases in a few areas (more so near the lower edges). It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it displays quite well!
