Zanuck; about beautiful serving girl maid played by Loretta Young, who works for a rich family, and the son falls for her, but evil butler Basil Rathbone has designs on her himself, and does all he can to break them up!) starring Robert Taylor, Loretta Young, Patsy Kelly, Basil Rathbone, Marjorie Gateson, Jane Darwell, Paul Harvey, Joe E. Lewis, and John Miljan NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned three examples of this first release one-sheet, and one of those examples has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still only one of three examples we have ever auctioned! Also, note that this poster was one of the posters found in the legendary Royal Theatre Collection, in Canada over 40 years ago. This was the most amazing find of 1930s and 1940s posters ever, because not only were most in remarkable condition (most with paper that was as white as when it was printed), but also because it contained many of the best titles of those years, and there were many thousands of posters and lobby cards in all. Despite these having been sold over 40 years ago, many of these posters have rarely again been offered for sale or at auction. The poster offered here was purchased from the Royal Theatre Collection! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had some staining in the left of the top border, extending into the background and the top of the "T" of "ROBERT" and the top of the "R" of "TAYLOR". It had scuff marks in the upper right background and a stamp on the back of the top right corner that slightly bled through to the front. Otherwise, the poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and extremely minor fold wear. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. This extremely rare poster was expertly backed, and it will display wonderfully on the new owner's wall (and the colors are very bright and fresh, which is a big plus!).
