An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded German Movie Poster (12x19; measures 13 3/4" x 18 3/4" [35 x 48 cm]) (Learn More)

the 1933 German local theater poster advertising Eine Tur Geht Auf (released in the U.S. as "A Door Opens"), the 1933 Alfred Zeisler German crime thriller starring Erika Fiedler, Hermann Speelmans, Lilli Rodin, Fritz Odemar, and Oskar Sima AND Tarzan, the Ape Man, the 1932 W.S. Van Dyke jungle adventure action melodrama ("The thrill of thrills!"; based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs novel) starring Johnny Weissmuller (in the title role as Tarzan), Neil Hamilton, Maureen O'Sullivan (as Jane), C. Aubrey Smith, Doris Lloyd, and Ray Corrigan (as an uncredited ape!). Note that Crash Corrigan made a REALLY wise investment in the 1930s, when he either bought a "gorilla suit" for this movie (or perhaps was given it as a gift after this movie). In many of the movies in the 1940s where there is a fake gorilla, it is played by Crash Corrigan, no doubt because he could supply the suit! AND Kampf, the 1932 Erich Schonfelder & Haro van Peski car racing sports melodrama starring Manfred von Brauchitsch, Evelyn Holt, Kurt Vespermann, Georg H. Schnell, Lucie Hoflich, Jessie Vihrog, and Alfred Abel. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this poster also advertises a documentary short about penguins!
