Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) Blackbeard the Pirate, the 1952 Raoul Walsh swashbuckling seafaring high seas pirate booty treasure adventure thriller ("They took what they wanted... And they wanted the world!", "Stolen love!"; "Murder by mutiny"; "Captive love prize!"; "'Evil Eye' dares foe!"; "The seas have never seen their like!"; "The screen has never matched the thunder of their adventures!"; "Love captive of the savage wolves of the sea!") starring Robert Newton (in the title role as Blackbeard), Linda Darnell, William Bendix, Keith Andes, and Alan Mowbray NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had creases, small tears, and tiny paper loss on many foldlines. There were creases, tears, and pinholes around the edges of the poster. The poster was pretty well backed, but oddly, the restorer did not remove some scotch tape that was at the top of the lower section of the poster. You can see some signs of the restoration, but overall, I think it displays pretty nicely. Learn More about condition grades
