A Complete Set of 4 Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Uncut Lobby Card Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) The Sound of Laughter, the 1963 John O'Shaughnessy comedy compilation movie (apparently, this was a compilation of film clips from comedies of the 1930s, with some kind of weird "framing device", with Ed Wynn as a supposed "college professor", and "master of ceremonies"; "A star-studded parade of the classic clowns more hilarious than ever..."; "Cavalcade of comedians!"; "No drama! No murder! Just old-fashioned laughs!") including archive footage of Danny Kaye, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Willie Howard, Joan Davis, Milton Berte, Imogene Coca, and Ed Wynn (not from archive footage). Note that this movie contained archival footage of Buster Keaton and Shirley Temple, but by 1963, their star had fallen so significantly that they weren't even deemed worthy of being billed! Important Added Info: Note that Buster Keaton is pictured on the lobby card at bottom right (dressed as a fireman)! Also note that this is a set of four uncut lobby cards (in the 1920s to 1960s, lobby cards were printed four at a time on one 22" x 28" sheet, and then trimmed into four lobby cards). There would be two such sheets which would be trimmed into a full set of eight lobby cards. Very rarely, an uncut sheet of four lobby cards is found. Also note that this poster has never been machine folded! Most half-sheet posters were folded once horizontally and once vertically right off of the printing press. It is very difficult to find an unfolded example of most half-sheets, especially from before 1970! Condition: very good.
