Cimarron, the 1931 Wesley Ruggles (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) epic winning-of-the-West melodrama ("Edna Ferber's Colossal Cimarron"; "World's Mightiest Show!"; "Terrific as all Creation"; "Mightiest drama of the ages"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award; from a story by Edna Ferber) starring Richard Dix (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Irene Dunne (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Estelle Taylor, Roscoe Ates, Nance O'Neil, Edna May Oliver, with "5000 in cast" (some advertising says "and a cast of 40,000"!).
