5t0004 ILLUSTRATED LONDON NEWS English magazine page 1874 American baseball at Prince's Grounds!

An Original Vintage English Magazine Page (measures 11" x 15 3/4" [28 x 40 cm]) (Learn More)

The Illustrated London News, which was the world's first illustrated weekly news magazine. It was first published in 1842 and ceased publication in 2003.
Important Added Info: Note that this page was removed from the August 15, 1874 issue of Illustrated London News. It shows a scene of athletes playing a ball game. One would think that since it is from an English magazine, that they would be playing cricket, but actually, they are playing American baseball in 1874 (the caption reads "The Americans Playing Base-Ball at Prince's Grounds"). This certainly seems very historic and would be wonderful framed! There is printing on the reverse side of the page, and we have photographed it. But this page can be matted or framed for little money and makes a great inexpensive display!

Condition: good to very good. The page was removed from a magazine.
