Date Sold 8/5/2021 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 13 Original Vintage Theatrical Oversized Movie Stills (measure 16" x 20" [41 x 51 cm]) (Learn More) Return of the Jedi (now known as "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi"), the classic 1983 Richard Marquand outer space science fiction (sci-fi) action adventure epic sequel ("Return to a galaxy far, far away!"; "The Saga Continues"; "The movie everyone's been waiting for!"; written and produced by George Lucas) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Billy Dee Williams (as Lando Calrissian), Anthony Daniels ("as C-3PO"), David Prowse (as the man in the Darth Vader suit), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Frank Oz (as the voice of Yoda), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), and Alec Guinness (as Obi-Wan Kenobi) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these stills, which measure 16" x 20" [41 x 51 cm], were created in a set of 13, and we are auctioning all 13 of them, so it is a complete set. IN THE PAST, WE WERE CONSIGNED SETS OF 11 OF THIS SEVENTEEN DIFFERENT TIMES, AND THAT CAUSED US TO BELIEVE THAT THE COMPLETE SET CONTAINED 11 PRINTS. NOW WE HAVE BEEN CONSIGNED THIS SET OF 13! How to explain that? They were consigned to us from the estate of a man who worked for 20th Century-Fox when this movie came out, and we strongly suspect that there WERE originally 13 prints, but that two of the prints were deleted before they were ever distributed, and that would explain the above (that this employee received the 13 before the decision was made to eliminate two, but theaters got sets of 11). This is "guess work", but it seems VERY likely based on everything we know. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Because there are 13 of them and because they are on a fairly heavyweight paper stock, they will need to be sent in a large flat package, because rolling them would surely lessen their condition.
