Date Sold 11/19/2024 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Over My Dead Body, the 1942 Malcolm St. Clair mystery crime courtroom legal lawyer romantic comedy ("A Berle's best friend is his murder!...") starring Milton Berle, Mary Beth Hughes, Reginald Denny, Frank Orth, Edwin August, Leon Belasco, George Beranger, Wonderful Smith, and George M. Carleton. Note that Wonderful Smith was a black African-American comedian of the 1940s. He appeared in two movies in stereotypical roles, and he also appeared on Red Skelton's radio show. He is best remembered for a comedy routine called "Hello, Mr. President", where he stood with a telephone and pretended to talk with President Roosevelt. He served during World War II, and when he returned, he found that his role in the radio show had been greatly reduced, and he sued and lost. He later made some TV appearances and was in some 1970s movies! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good.
