A Linenbacked Dutch Advertising Poster (measures 16 3/4" x 29 3/4" [43 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) Henri Privat-Livemont was a Belgian artist from the 1880s to 1936 who is best known for his Art Nouveau posters. From 1883 to 1889, he worked and studied in the studios of Lemaire, Lavastre & Duvignaud. He, with Lemaire, created the decor of the Theatre Francais as well as the Hotel de Ville. Artist: Henri Privat-Livemont Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was torn unevenly across the middle, but with almost no paper loss. It had some creases scattered in the rest of the poster, with some tears and small paper loss around the edges. It had some stains in the top letters and the background between them. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
