He was born in America, but moved to Australia with his family as a child, and has a strong Australian accent (so strong that when Mad Max was first released in the U.S., he was dubbed!). Some of his movies include: Gallipoli, the Mad Max series, Braveheart, and the Lethal Weapon series. He directed The Passion of the Christ, which made him hundreds of millions of dollars, but his explosive tirades severely hurt his reputation and legacy, resulting in a Hollywood blacklist until 2016, and although his close friends have stuck by him (including several famous actors), his career has not recovered, although he is working on a sequel to The Passion of the Christ, slated for release in 2022! Important Added Info: Note that this REPRODUCTION still has been personally autographed (signed) by Mel Gibson! Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who has been a major movie memorabilia collector and dealer from the 1970s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items. Both we and our consignor feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity (unless noted above). Condition: very good to fine.
