An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Stock One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) a circa 1940s stock poster ("The top comedy team of all time!") created by Western Adventure Pictures for use by theaters showing re-releases of Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy movies in 1940s. Theaters would order this poster, which has a large blank area at the bottom. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Condition: very good. The poster had creases, tears, and tiny areas of paper loss in the top quarter of the vertical foldline and in the top horizontal foldline, and there had been tape on the back of those areas. There was minor wear on the other foldlines and minor border wear. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed. You can see signs of the restoration of the above defects from close up, but from any reasonable viewing distance, they are not very distracting at all. Learn More about condition grades
