An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] REPRODUCTION Still (Learn More) Lois January was an actress from the 1930s to the 1960s. She had a promising start, appearing in Universal's "By Candlelight", and she was signed to a contract, but they didn't find much for her, and she was loaned to Columbia. When her Universal contract was up, she signed with Republic, and appeared in several of their westerns. Surely, her most memorable role was as the manicurist buffing up Judy Garland's nails in 1939's "The Wizard of Oz"! During World War II, she had her own radio program as the voice of "The Revelry Girl" who woke the GIs up with up-to-date news. She had talent as a singer, and in the 1940s, she appeared on Broadway and then sang in New York nightclubs, still appearing in a few movies, making her last in 1961, and doing some TV. She passed away in 2006 at the age of 93. Important Added Info: Note that this REPRODUCTION still has been personally autographed (signed) by Lois January! Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! The consignor of this autographed item (and a number of other signed items in this auction) is a longtime autograph collector who does not have a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) for this item, but he feels certain it is genuine. Many of the items he has consigned were purchased from an autograph store that was going out of business when the owner retired, and many of the items he has consigned to this set of auctions come from this purchase. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
