An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) A New Screen Song Cartoon in Color, a 1949 stock poster used by theaters that show musical animated cartoon shorts prior to the feature movie ("Follow the bouncing ball for laughs and melody"; "Produced by Famous Studios"). Note that this is a "stock" poster created by Paramount for use for all entries of their "Screen Song" series. This particular stock poster was printed in "1949" (which is printed in the bottom left corner). Theaters would order this poster, which had a blank rectangle area at bottom. They would be sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, and they could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas. Most collectors consider them more valuable with a printed snipe attached. This particular poster has the studio-issued snipe for Snow Foolin', the 1949 Izzy Sparber animated winter sports musical comedy short cartoon. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny areas of paper loss in the vertical foldline between the top and bottom crossfold. There was minor wear around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, but it appears that there was a problem in gluing the poster at the top center and top right, because the poster is slightly "lifting" from the linen in those areas (a restorer can properly re-glue those areas without re-backing the poster).
