(also known as Heublein Spirits) was a producer and distributor of alcoholic beverages and food from 1862 to 1982. Heublein began as a restaurant which was founded by Andrew Heublein. A distillery was built to satisfy demand of pre-mixed cocktails at the restaurant, and his business became more focused on the ready-to-drink cocktails. In 1906 the company acquired the rights to distribute (and later produce) A1 Steak Sauce, and in 1939 acquired all rights to Smirnoff Vodka. In 1982 the R.J.
