An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Face in the Fog, the 1922 Alan Crosland silent Russia detective mystery crime melodrama (valuable jewels were stolen from the Russian royal family, and the U.S. government asks criminal turned detective Boston Blackie to help retrieve them from the Russians who stole them; he does so, and then he turns them over to the U.S. government, or so they think, but actually, he gave them replicas, and he gave the real jewels to the rightful Russian owners!) starring Lionel Barrymore, Seena Owen, Lowell Sherman, George Nash, and Louis Wolheim. Note that this is a partially "lost" film which means that only an incomplete copy is known to exist. Also note that this is one of ten silent movies made in the 1920s starring the fictional character "Boston Blackie", a reformed crook turned detective, which were based on short stories by Jack Boyle. The character was revived in 1941 with Chester Morris playing Boston Blackie, and there were 14 movies in the 1940s. This was the second Boston Blackie movie, and in this one movie, Lionel Barrymore played the famed criminal turned detective NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
