An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

A Sailor-Made Man, the 1921 Fred C. Newmeyer silent slapstick Navy romantic comedy (written and produced by Hal Roach; about a wealthy playboy whose girlfriend's father tells him he needs to get a "real job" if he wants to marry his daughter, and he impulsively joins the Navy!) starring Harold Lloyd, Mildred Davis (who, two years after this movie, would marry Lloyd, and they would stay married for 46 years until her passing), Noah Young, Dick Sutherland, William Gillespie, and Fred Guiol. Note that this film was intended to be a 2-reel short but audiences loved the 4-reel test screening so much that Lloyd and Roach decided not to edit it down to 2 reels, and it became Lloyd's first feature-length film.

Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a half-sheet (which auctioned for $1,750), three French one-panels (two different styles), and a different lobby card from this movie (and NO other movie paper) until we received this second lobby card, which has a wonderful close image of Harold Lloyd! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. The card likely had some faint stains and smudges scattered throughout. We say that, because someone performed restoration to it and it displays well, but when you look very closely at it, you can see that there has been light touch up scattered throughout the card, which would explain be consistent with the defects described above.
