Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey Circus, the 1950s circus poster featuring artwork of a circus act by Maxwell Frederic Copelan. The modern version of the circus started in 1919 when the Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, a circus created by P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey, was merged with the Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows. With weakening attendance and high operating costs, the circus closed on May 21st, 2017 after 146 years.
Artist: Maxwell Frederic Coplan
Important Added Info: Note that this circus poster is actually two individual circus posters (which measured approximately 20" x 28" each) that were glued together and then a large snipe was glued over the bottom of the two circus posters, creating a single poster that measures 36" x 41". Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: fair. The two posters were glued together with a snipe (see above). There is MUCH creasing, tearing, and tearing throughout the poster. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have it properly restored!
