An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Who Done It?, the 1942 Erle C. Kenton detective crime murder mystery screwball comedy ("Their newest fun-riot...!"; "Original Story, Stanley Roberts"; about two dumb soda jerks who dream about writing mysteries for radio shows; they go to the station to pitch their ideas, and end up in the middle of a real murder investigation when the radio station owner is killed) starring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello (Abbott and Costello), Patric Knowles, William Gargan, Louise Allbritton, William Bendix, Mary Wickes, Don Porter, and Ludwig Stossel. Note that in the movie, Abbott and Costello wear deerstalker hats, because of their association with legendary fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned this version (with a yellow title and different montage) in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has creases and a 3" tear at upper left. There are pinholes and some smaller tears along portions of the blank borders and the larger tears and most of the smaller ones are repaired with brown paper tape from the back. There are a few fine creases and some scuff marks scattered in a few portions of the image area, and there is some pen writing at lower right in the blank border (and someone once covered that areas with paint or white-out). The very rare poster is otherwise generally in nice condition, and one could choose to display it as is, or after paperbacking with some restoration it would look great!
