An Original 1930 (from the first release of this movie in Denmark) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Danish Movie Poster (measures 24" x 35 1/2" [61 x 90 cm]) (Learn More)

Durfen wir Schweigen? (released in the U.S. as "Should We Be Silent?"), the 1926 Richard Oswald German silent romantic STD venereal disease tragedy melodrama starring Conrad Veidt (as a painter who steals a doctor's bride, and has syphilis, but refuses to get treated!), Walter Rilla, Henri De Vries, Mary Parker, Elga Brink, and Fritz Kortner. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Artist: K. Wenzel
Important Added Info: The poster was placed on to a very thin linen backing shortly after being printed. The purpose was to reinforce the poster, so that it would survive, when it was passed from theater to theater, and when it was put up on walls and taken down. Such posters can be professionally removed from the original linen and placed on to a proper linen backing. I have done this to several such posters, and they end up looking wonderful!

Condition: fair to good. There is paint over the title area at upper left and part of the credits at bottom has been blacked out. There are some creases throughout the poster from it being rolled as well as folded at one time. It appears a small amount was trimmed from the edges of the poster.
